New year's nyau dance lands 'rapist' in hot soup

An 18-YEAR-OLD Shamva man is in soup after picking a mentally challenged girl (16) from a Nyau dance event to his bedroom and raped her.
Amos Takudzwa was not asked to plead to a rape charge by Bindura magistrate Ruramai Chitumbura yesterday.
He was remanded in custody to January 19.
The state led by Sheilla Kudzai Maribha alleged on New year's day Takudzwa met the victim (name withhold) at a nyau dance in Shamva and proposed love to her.
He took her to his bedroom where he raped her once without protection.
The two went back to the nyau dance and the victim decided to go back home but it was late.
Upon being quizzed by her aunt on her whereabouts she dilvulged the rape , a police report was filed leading to Takudzwa's arrest.
