Opposition aligned journalist Hopewell Chin'ono has reported that the newly elected Harare CCC Councillors in Harare have blocked a 1 February resolution by the Information and Publicity Committee authorizing US$136,465 465 in accommodation and allowances for a Trade Fair trip to Bulawayo next week and a further $8000 for incidentals and a party.
The resolution was taken when Councillors aligned to Nelson Chamisa were recalled by MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora.
Said Chin'ono, "I have just been informed that Nelson Chamisa 's CCC councillors have blocked this authorized looting a few minutes ago! It explains why Local Government Minister, July Moyo, was refusing to let CCC Councillors to run the committees that make these decisions."
On Thursday, Minister of local Government July Moyo issued a circular barring the Councillors from changing the composition of Committees and Mayors.
