Tobacco company employees up for fraud

Two Bindura Tobacco company employees were dragged to court yesterday facing fraud charges.
Takudzwa Mubariki (23) and Tiny Chide (28) appeared before Bindura magistrate Samantha Dhlamini and pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutor Shiella Kudzai Maribha alleged during the 2021 - 2022 farming season at Matepatepa area, Bindura the two hatched a plan to deceive their employer by getting inputs meant for their contracted farmers but instead they gave farmers of their choice.
The farmers who got the inputs from the pair did not sell their tobacco to the company.
Chide who is the company's clerck authenticated the distribution of the inputs by his co-accused (Mubariki) by signing the sales receipts.
The company discovered the case and filed a police report leading to the arreat of the pair.
