There was drama at ZANU PF Mashonaland Central provincial office in Bindura on Sartuday where party Chairman Kazembe Kazembe nearly exchanged blows with War Veterans Association chairperson Sam Parirenyatwa over looming war veterans league elections regulations.
Insiders said Parirenyatwa interjected Kazembe as he was giving party regulations for the coming elections at a Provincial Coodinating Committe chaired by Kazembe.
"Parirenyatwa who is eying the chairmaship of the province felt Kazembe was pushing the agenda of his candidate Richard Chirongwe and the two nearly exchanged blows when Kazembe threatened to chuck Parirenyatwa out of the meeting," the source said.
The two have been rivals since the the New Dispensation came into existence and at one time in 2018 Parirenyatwa was brought before Politiburo members by Kazembe accusing him of leaking information to the media and the heated meeting had security officers and journalists chucked out by Kazembe.
Factionalism is now at an alarming rate in Mashonaland Central as party leaders barely spend the whole meeting without harrasing each other.
