Mvurwi farmer promotes agro-tourism

Mvurwi farmer Mr Vitalis Kereke is spearheading agro-tourism in the farm town through his Stone and Water resort located on the banks of Gulliver Dam in Mvurwi.
The luxurious resort provides recreational activities such as camping, boat cruising, boxing arena, conference centre and quad bikes.
The resort proprietor who is moving very fast in advancing his place said he is making use of the dam to provide a perfect site for recreational activities.
"I have an A2 farm here and have thought of embracing agro-tourism since we have Gulliver Dam, which is one of the largest dams in the province hence it provides a perfect site for recreational activities," Kereke said.
The farmer has embraced the value chain concept at his farm where everything consumed at the resort is produced there.
"We have embraced the value chain concept where we produce everything consumed at the resort from meats, greens and starchies. We are big in livestock including piggery and big and we believe so far we rank in the top 10 in the province," he added.
