All players called up for the Warriors' 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and South Africa, starting this week, are expected to arrive in South Africa today.

The team will face Lesotho at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on Friday, where Zimbabwe will be the home team, before playing South Africa at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein four days later. As a result, the Warriors will camp in South Africa for the duration of both matches.

FIFA Forward Manager Kudzi Chitima told Zimpapers Sports Hub that all team members will convene at OR Tambo International Airport, where South Africa-based Zimbabwean footballers will welcome them and host a lunch.

Despite being the home team away from home for their fixture against Lesotho on Friday, Zimbabweans in South Africa are working hard to make the Warriors feel at home. The South Africa-based Zimbabwe Footballers Association is playing a leading role, with Chairperson and former Warriors defensive stalwart Alexander Maseko organizing transportation and support.

Zimbabwe currently has two points from as many games, following a goalless draw against Rwanda and a 1-1 tie against Nigeria. Rwanda leads Group C with four points, followed by South Africa with three, while Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and Lesotho each have two points. Benin sits at the bottom with one point. Only the group winners will advance to the 2026 World Cup, set to be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
