Man gets protection order after estranged wife, in-laws terror

A Chitungwiza man was granted a protection order on Friday against his estranged wife and her parents after they allegedly threatened his life.

Last Charuma testified before Harare magistrate Johanna Mukwesha that his in-laws, Casten and Daphine Busha, along with their daughter Fungai Chirige, had been conspiring to disturb his peace since last year. Charuma explained that he was forced to relocate from Chitungwiza to Hopley after receiving death threats from strangers, whom he believed were sent by his wife and her relatives, as confirmed by her sister.

Although Casten did not oppose the application, he denied threatening Charuma. He stated that he had recently been granted bail in a related case after Charuma reported him, his wife, and their daughter to the police.

Magistrate Mukwesha granted Charuma the protection order.
