Police are investigating the sudden death of Agreement Wellington Nyangali, a 25-year-old man from New Magwegwe, who was found hanging at his home on November 16, 2024, following a domestic dispute.
According to Bulawayo police spokesperson, Inspector Abednico Ncube, the incident occurred after a heated argument between Nyangali and his wife, allegedly over his absence from home the previous night.
Tragic Discovery
Around 10:00 AM, after the couple's misunderstanding, Nyangali reportedly retreated to their bedroom and instructed his wife not to enter. Concerned about his well-being, Nyangali's brother contacted his wife, urging her to check on him. Upon entering the bedroom, she made the heartbreaking discovery - Nyangali had hanged himself from the roof truss with a rope around his neck.
She immediately notified Nyangali's brother, who rushed to the scene and confirmed the tragic situation. A police report was filed, and Nyangali's body was taken to Mpilo Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Police Appeal for Open Communication
Insp. Ncube urged the public to communicate openly about their problems and to seek support during times of conflict. He emphasized the importance of reaching out to others when dealing with personal challenges rather than resorting to self-harm.
"We encourage individuals to involve third parties when resolving misunderstandings," said Insp. Ncube, stressing the need for better mental health awareness within the community.
This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing mental health issues and the need for strong communication in relationships. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Nyangali's death.
