Premier Soccer League giants Dynamos have appointed Saul Chaminuka as their new head coach following the sacking of Lloyd “Mablanyo" Chigowe due to a dismal run of form.

Chaminuka joins Dembare from struggling Kwekwe United, who currently sit at the bottom of the league table. He was suspended by the club last week, but now finds himself at the helm of one of Zimbabwe's biggest football institutions.

Dynamos parted ways with Chigowe on Monday after winning just one of their last 11 league matches, a stretch that has left the Harare giants languishing in mid-table and out of title contention.

Of Chigowe's technical team, only strikers coach Takesure Chinyama and team manager Ronald Sibanda have retained their positions. The rest were shown the door as the club embarks on a technical overhaul.

The new technical setup, spearheaded by Chaminuka, includes former Motor Action goalkeeper Marlon Jani, who takes over as the goalkeepers' coach. Philemon Mutyakureva has been appointed as Chaminuka's assistant.

Chaminuka's first assignment comes in just five days, as Dynamos face their eternal rivals CAPS United at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday in a high-stakes Harare Derby. The pressure will be on the new coach to turn things around quickly and restore confidence in a team that has struggled for consistency.

Dynamos fans will be hoping that the fresh faces in the dugout can spark a revival and steer the team back into contention for top honours.
