Bodies of SA horror accident victims arrive at Beitbridge border post

The remains of 29 Zimbabweans who died in a bus accident outside Makhado (formerly Louis Trichardt) have arrived at Beitbridge Border Post, on their way to be laid to rest in their home communities.

The victims were among 44 Zimbabweans and Malawians who perished in the tragic crash. The Zimbabwean Government is covering the repatriation and burial costs, as well as hospital bills for the injured, some of whom have already been discharged.

The hearses transporting the bodies arrived at the border post shortly after 5pm, marking the next step in bringing the victims home for final rites.

The government's involvement underscores its commitment to supporting families affected by cross-border tragedies and ensuring dignified handling of the deceased.
