HARARE - The Zimbabwe National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ZNSPCA) has issued an urgent appeal to the public to help identify and locate a man seen in a viral video allegedly performing a ritual involving the brutal killing of a puppy.
In the disturbing footage, the suspect is seen biting the puppy, slitting its throat with a knife, and pouring its blood into a dish—actions believed to be part of a so-called "healing" ceremony.
ZNSPCA condemned the act as cruel and inhumane, stating that it is committed to using all legal avenues to ensure the perpetrator and any accomplices are brought to justice.
"This shocking video shows a puppy being cruelly harmed in what is claimed to be a ritual. We urge anyone with information that may lead to the identification and location of the suspect to come forward," the organisation said.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and debate over ritual abuse and animal cruelty in Zimbabwe.
