Four robbers jailed for attempted murder and theft

BINDURA - Four men from Glendale have been sentenced to four years in prison each after they brutally assaulted a fellow resident and left him for dead before stealing US$1,800 from him.
Karagan Garamukanwa, Gladmore Matambo, Josiah Tazivei, and Thabang were convicted of attempted murder by Bindura magistrate Elisha Singano following a violent attack on Makington Mutyavaviri at Tsungubvi Bar.
The court heard that on October 24 last year, Mutyavaviri arrived at the bar driving his Mark X vehicle with US$1,800 in cash. The accused targeted him for the money, deflated his car tyres, and launched a vicious assault using unknown weapons.
They only stopped the attack after Mutyavaviri lost consciousness, believing he was dead. The gang fled the scene with the stolen cash.
Police later apprehended the suspects and brought them before the courts. Edward Katsvairo prosecuted the case.
