Hwange Central legislator Daniel Molokele has announced that the constituency has finally received its long‑delayed Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation, marking the first disbursement since 2022.

Molokele said the funds, released under the 2024 national budget, will immediately be channelled towards priority development projects across selected wards.

“I would like to confirm that as the Hwange Central constituency, we have finally received our long‑awaited CDF funds. The disbursement is the first one since 2022 and is actually under the 2024 national budget,” he said.

He added that Parliament had already confirmed there would be no CDF disbursement under the 2023 budget, while uncertainty remains over allocations for 2025 and 2026.

Molokele said 1.3 million ZiG was deposited last week into the constituency’s dedicated CDF bank account.

“During this coming week, our local CDF Committee will initiate the process of rolling out the approved CDF projects in the following five wards: Ward One, Ward Four, Ward Five, Ward Six and Ward Fourteen,” he said.

He noted that the remaining wards would be catered for once the next CDF disbursement is released.
