The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with separate murder incidents that occurred in Marondera and Bindura on 28 March 2026.

In the first case, Munyaradzi Takundwa (45) was arrested following a fatal incident in Dombotombo. Police allege that Takundwa struck his younger brother, Simbarashe Takundwa (41), once on the head with a shovel during a dispute over a cellphone. The victim reportedly died on the spot.

In a separate incident, police in Bindura arrested Sharelight Ncube (31) in connection with a murder at Kitsiyatota Gold Panning Site. It is alleged that Ncube shot Padzuru Justice, who was among a group of illegal gold miners prospecting near a railway line.

The ZRP has not yet released further details on the circumstances surrounding the two incidents but confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

Police have urged members of the public to resolve disputes peacefully and avoid violence, warning that such actions often lead to loss of life and severe legal consequences.
