Political commentator Jealous Mawarire says a recent media interview involving businessman Dumbuzenene (Chivayo) has exposed deeper political dynamics and alleged tensions within Zimbabwe's leadership.
Responding to public debate, Mawarire argued that the interview should be viewed through a political lens rather than as a neutral business profile.
"Dumbuzenene's message should be directed at you since you are the one who has been attacking VP Chiwenga and calling for his dismissal," he said, framing parts of the discussion as politically targeted.
He claimed the interview reflected shifting alliances at senior levels of Government.
"My reading is that Dumbuzenene and ED are under pressure to mend relations with Gen Chiwenga, hence that charade of an interview," he said.
Mawarire also suggested that the businessman inadvertently revealed more than intended about his dealings, including claims of seeking "muteuro" from an apostolic sect to curry favour with presidents.
He argued that the interview exposed "desperation and positioning" among politically connected business figures, adding that some claims about international business engagements were difficult to verify.
"There are a lot of things that sprung out of that interview which are very damaging, not only to Dumbuzenene, but to ED himself," he said.
Mawarire's remarks are his personal interpretation and have not been independently verified. Neither the Office of the President nor Vice President Chiwenga has commented.
The interview continues to generate debate online, with analysts divided on whether it reflects genuine political dynamics or is simply personal commentary.
