The City of Harare has commenced a mop-up exercise for prepaid water meter installations in areas that were previously missed during the initial rollout.

In a notice issued by acting town clerk Warren Chiwawa, residents in several suburbs have been urged to submit their details to ensure full coverage of the programme.

The mop-up exercise will cover areas including Mabelreign, Warren Park, Budiriro, Waterfalls, Aspindale, Milton Park, Bluffhill, Sunningdale, Sunridge, Belvedere, the Avenues, Marlborough, Crowborough and Cold Comfort.

"Residents whose properties were skipped during the initial installation phase are encouraged to send their full name, residential address and phone number via WhatsApp or SMS to 0719 742 542," the notice reads.

Officials said the information will help installation teams ensure that no eligible property is left out as the city continues its broader water management and billing reform programme.

The prepaid meter rollout is part of ongoing efforts to improve revenue collection and water usage monitoring in Harare, where service delivery pressures have increased demand for more efficient utility systems.
