HARARE — The trial of Gideon Madzikatidze was postponed again today when he appeared before Magistrate Ruth Moyo at the Harare Magistrates Court at Rotten Row.
Although out of custody on bail, Madzikatidze was further remanded to 20 August 2026 for possible trial.
His lawyer, Godwin Giya, told the court that continued postponements were prejudicial to his client. Giya said any further remand would leave him with no option but to put the State on notice against continued delays.
The matter was postponed because the defence and the court are yet to receive a cyber report, which is expected to form part of the evidence.
Madzikatidze remains on bail pending his next court appearance, as the case continues to draw attention within the justice system and among observers following issues of trial delays and case backlog.
