A Chitungwiza man - Tinashe Munemiwa faked his own death when police attempted to arrest him at his place.
Munemiwa told the police that the person they were after had died.
Munemiwa had defaulted on a $60 maintenance to his former wife - Heather Kufakunesu.
The issue only came to light in court after Munemiwa was seeking a reduction from $100.
He said he could not afford the $100.
He wanted it to be slashed to $40.
Heather objected saying "The money cannot be reduced because as we speak he is owing me a lot of money, at one time he lied to the police who had gone to arrest him that he had died.
"So he is actually not taking the order which was granted by the court seriously".
Munemiwa said he will keep on being arrested as $100 was too much for him.
He was told to first clear the debt he owes his former wife if he wanted the courts to entertain his application for reduction.
