4 die in road accidents

THREE people died in a road accident along Kwekwe-Gokwe road at the weekend after a vehicle they were traveling in burst a tyre and overturned.
Two of the deceased whose identities are unknown died on the spot while the third person died on admission at Gokwe District Hospital.
In a statement by the Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said the vehicle a burst left rear tyre causing the vehicle to overturn.
"The driver lost control and the vehicle veered off the road and overturned before landing on its left side," said Charamba.
In a related incident, one person died whilst eight others were injured in another road accident along Chivhu-Roy road.
Charamba said the vehicle was carrying 31 passengers when the accident occurred.
"The vehicle, a Toyota Hiace burst its rear left tyre, overturned and landed on its left side," said Charamba.
Meanwhile another traffic accident took place along Shumba-Chikore near Mujeni turn off Rusape injuring four people.
This follows after the driver who was following behind rammed into another vehicle.
Charamba is appealing to members of the public to take caution and check their vehicles before using them on the road.
"Police are urging the motoring public to check the condition of their vehicle tyres before embarking on their journeys," said the chief staff officer.
He also said drivers should stick to the stipulated gaps between vehicles when driving.
