A Harare man has accused his wife of being a bully who threatens to pour acid on him amongst other terrible things whenever they have a misunderstanding.

Robious Vengwa sought protection from the court against his wife Angela Chikafu.

Robious alleged that Angela is a drug dealer and is of a violent disposition.

"She goes to the gym and she is very powerful. We are still legally married but we have been separated for 14 years.

"She comes to my workplace and insults me. She calls me a mad person in front of my colleagues.

"What led to our separation is that she chased me out of the house. She carries a teaser gun with her and she is always saying she stayed in South Africa and nothing happened to her because she could fight.

"The other time we had a misunderstanding when she came to my workplace and sold "mbanje" to people in the presence of the children. She is a drug dealer who supplies "mbanje". I need to be protected because this woman is very dangerous," he said.

Angela denied the allegations arguing that it was Robious who had left the house at his own will.

"He ran away after squandering our savings. He started staying with another woman in Epworth. He also came home and took property saying he was making money and did not want to have anything to do with me.

"I then went to South Africa and when I came back he was acting insane. I then took him in and started taking care of him. Our eldest child discovered that he was taking expired pills. Whenever he got drunk he would be violent.

"I only threatened to pour acid on him when he attacked me. He is the one who is violent and not me. I took care of him when he was sick and I have no reason to be violent with him," she said.

Magistrate Barbra Mateko granted the favour in Robious' favour.
