ZLHR deploys lawyers to represent Chebundo

The Zimbabwe Lawyers of Human Rights (ZLHR) has deployed lawyers to Kwekwe to represent former MDC-T Legislator Blessing Chebundo and four other residents who were arrested over a procession held in Saturday.

ZLHR Communications officer Kumbirai Mafunda said in Kwekwe, Midlands "province ZLHR has deployed lawyers to offer emergency legal services to former opposition lawmaker Blessing Chebundo and four other residents Sekai Marashe, Tendai Kokera, Shadreck Tobaiwa and Moses Mashazhu who were arrested on Tuesday 19 July 2016 over a procession held on Saturday 16 July 2016 to highlight the country's deepening political and economic crisis."

He said the five were charged with public violence as defined in Section 36 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act. The five are expected to appear at Kwekwe Magistrateds Court yesterday.
