MDC-T National Youth Commander Happymore Chidziva has said the events of the past few days within the MDC-T is not only shocking but disturbing.

He said unfortunately, "this has happened during my absence", as he is currently attending a Youth forum in China.

"History tells us that the Youths are the vanguards of any successful revolution or struggle. Hence I am compelled, as the Youth Chairman of our movement to guard, with jealous, our struggle," he said.

"There seems to be a concerted effort, to derail our moving wave by those whom we entrusted with the responsibility of taking us to a new Zimbabwe. There seemed to be an effort to continuously confine our efforts and energies towards our internal politics at the expense of the struggle to free our people."

Chidziva said he would like to warn these retrogressive elements, that youth will not fold their hands any more, watching them derailing their efforts to end Robert Mugabe's regime.

"National events of the past few weeks showed a collective resolve, determination and courage among the youths of this country in ending Zanu PF's ineptitude. It was mainly protests by young people across the divide. The same generation that is looking upon the MDC for leadership and support. What's currently unfolding within our party is an insult to their efforts, victimizations and the State persecutions," he said.

"An attempt to reverse an appointment made by our President, is actually an attack, not only to the office of the President, but to Morgan Tsvangirai himself. An attack to our President, is an attack to us as well and is an attack to our struggle. Those who are questioning his wisdom and decision in appointing Vice President Nelson Chamisa and Elias Mudzuru, should come to us for answers."

He said the next few days will determine their course of action.

"We stand ready to take over the running of our party and confront the real enemy as expected by the Youths of Zimbabwe. Those challenging the wisdom of our President in exercising the executive powers bestowed on him should tell us where were they when the youths stood up during ‪#‎shutdown‬, during ‪#‎thisflag‬ tornado and ‪#‎tajamuka‬ offensive?" he said.

"I urge members of our Youth Assembly to remain undeterred and determined at the same time, give assurance to concerned Zimbabweans, that the Youth Assembly stand ready to end this hullabaloo by opportunist and their fiefdoms."
