'Mugabe's long time rule reduced Ndebeles to nothing'

A political commentator Petros Joseph Dube‎ has said the long time rule of President Robert Mugabe was a blessing in disguise for the people in Mashonaland provinces while it reduced the Ndebeles to nothing.

He said the truth hurts at it appears people are not yet ready to face the truth.

"If we are not ready to face the truth ,we are not ready to deal with economic and social problems we are currently facing," Dube said.

"Mugabe's prolonged stay in power was indeed a blessing in disguise to the people of Mashonaland, Masvingo and Manicaland. Besides looting top posts even in our region through nepotism Mugabe s misrule reduced Ndebeles to nothing, they have no say all they can do is to accept whatever is dished."

He said whenever the Ndebeles raise such issues they are labelled as tribalists.

"In addition to that they sabotaged and suppressed our musicians, poets and many talented folks.They do whatever it takes to suppress anything that is meant to uplift Ndebeles," he said.

"Believe me if it was not for the current economic crisis these people wouldn't have realised this.They would have continued chanting " VaMugabe Ndimambo."
