Presia Ngulube, Vice President of Mthwakazi Republic Party
Mthwakazi Republic Party Vice President Presia Ngulube has poured out her heart concerning her political venture, which saw her land on the Vice Presidency of the party which has been labelled a secessionist group.
"My name is Presia Ngulube, I grew up in Bulawayo. I am the Vice President of Mthwakazi Republic Party and an aspiring MP for Njube Lobhengula constituency in Bulawayo. It is of great importance to note that women in politics are generally few particularly in the position of leadership, and it is now a great opportunity for those that are willing to take the risks. Almost all political parties particularly in Africa women in leadership are few yet we are a majority in population," Ngulube said.
"This is one of the many reasons that motivates me to participate in politics. As women we value marriage so much that some men take advantage of that to deny from taking up leadership positions because of their own insecurities. Women in leadership are in demand these days and it is important for us to be part of decision making because it is only us who know our situation better and therefore our slogan should be nothing for us without us."
Ngulube said right now its election time she personally is calling upon all women aged 18 years and above to register to vote and be voted for, as her party MRP is still in need of Council and Parliamentary candidates.
"Shunning politics is not the best way because we will be creating room for men to make decisions on our behalf without our input. As MRP VP I have a task to lead the party to victory in Bulawayo though overall we want to win all the Mthwakazi seats," she said.
