I had a dream

17 Jun 2014 at 05:03hrs | Views

The desire of a paradigm shift from Afro centric political approach to people oriented politicking has seen me dreaming of a better Zimbabwe with self respect and pro development human elements.

Believe me if you have a chance of dreaming my kind, you will wake up a better person. Pardon me; I am not trying to relive the biblical Joseph the dreamer. It is sad to note that very few people can dream of a better Zimbabwe because most of us are pre occupied by malicious schemes to bring the country to its knees.

The pace with which some people loot of Zimbabwe and their corruption level seems like they have been told Zimbabwe is closing down imminently. National attitude is indeed of paramount importance in as far as l tried to translate and find meaning to that dream.

The attitude can only be rehabilitated by the political will to set things right for every Zimbabwean. Marxists subscribe to the ideology that he who owns the means of production owns the means of mental production. My appeal can therefore be directed to none other than those with the political and economic capital to stir the cause for Zimbabwe to benefit than toy around with people like pawns on a chase board.

Having been born 2 and half decades ago have seen politicians come,  make promises and speeches so appealing but never come to fruition.

Statements such as "I have the keys to the economy" send people looking up the direction of that voice in anticipation of a change of attitude from "mati madii nenzara".  Up to this date there hasn't been any unlocking of the economy yet.

With the attitude of creating commotion as is evident in other African nations simply paint the dark picture of Africa as a continent. Unity of purpose is ideal as proven by the unity accord of 22 December 1987 between ZANU PF and PF ZAPU. Zimbabwe was brought to normalcy with political parties redirecting their efforts towards the same goal of nation building.

In as much as the opposition parties have the zeal to rule, unorthodox ways towards the helm of power won't do the general populace any good no matter how hard you try to arm twist them. It is prudent for the opposition formations to seek audience from the government and contribute towards a better Zimbabwe.

Wars are natural but if one is not careful they can spend a lifetime fighting not to enjoy an iota of what they believe in. I just believe we can collectively make Zimbabwe a better place as the originals and indigenous people without interference from outsiders.

A better plan or advice comes from your kin and kith. A foreigner will not highlight much on the pros and cons of their advice especially when they want something out that house of yours.
