Fernando Torres has revealed the major reason behind his departure from Anfield after stating that he could't wait for Liverpool to undergo a whole rebuilding process.
The former Red caused massive shock when he left Liverpool to sign for Chelsea on the last hour of the January transfer window. Chelsea signed the Spaniard for an estimated 50 million Euros.
After previously stating his love for Liverpool, Fernando Torres's departure was hard to swallow for most of the Anfield faithfuls. Some of them have found this transfer very hard to accept and finally Torres has revealed the reason behind his departure.
He stated that while Liverpool will always be in his heart, winning trophies were his main agenda and he could't wait anymore at Anfield.
"I think they have great ambition and they are doing the right things to get back, but it will take time. I didn't have that time."
"As soon as I knew that Liverpool and Chelsea were talking about that, I told them that the decision was made," he said.
"I was the first one to go to the manager and tell them."
Carlo Ancelotti said that he is still undecided over whether Torres would make the starting line-up. However, Torres came out saying that he will not celebrate if he scores against his old club this Sunday.
"I have big, big respect for Liverpool fans so I don't think so," he said when asked if he would celebrate any goal.
Liverpool take on Chelsea this Sunday in what is to be a feisty encounter. The transfer of Torres might have just increased the intensity of this encounter.
