Analyst hails smooth power transfer in Tanzania, bemoans state of affairs in Zim

A Zimbabwean Political commentator Zexie Mashonga has hailed the smooth transfer of power in Tanzania and condemned the state of affairs in Zimbabwe a country which has only one president for the past 35 years and people fearing to replace him.

Tanzania had elections and its former president Jakaya Kikwete voluntarily let the helm top pave way for the new president John Magufuli. And during the swearing in Kikwate was there standing next to the successor and sharing jokes with him.

Mashonga said that was a smooth transition of power succession in Tanzania.

"In the photos there is the current and former Presidents sharing jokes," he said. "In Zimbabwe its like its something so serious. One president for the past 35 year...nonsense."
