DYNAMOS face Premier Soccer League sanctions after their fans threw missiles onto the pitch after referee Hardley Ndazi awarded Bulawayo Chiefs a penalty in the second half of their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo on Saturday.
There was a stoppage of 15 minutes after the Dynamos players walked off the pitch in protest over the awarding of the penalty as DeMbare officials confronted the match officials.
In the melee, a Dynamos fan invaded the pitch and accosted the referee before he was arrested by the police.
Order 31 of the Premier Soccer League says it is an offence to invade the pitch or throw missiles onto the pitch and the club is responsible for the behaviour of its supporters.
"Order 31.1.1, On the part of the club where: 31.1.13, its supporters misbehave in any manner whatsoever, inside or outside a ground before, during or after a match, no matter on which ground the match is played. Without derogating from the generality of what constitutes misbehaviours on the part of supporters, the following are specifically declared to be acts of misbehaviour:- 31.1.13.1, invasion or attempted invasion of the field of play, save for reasons of crowd safety; 31.1.13.2 causing the abandonment or attempting to cause the abandonment of a match; 31.1.13.3 throwing or attempting to throw missiles, bottles and other objects, whether potentially harmful or dangerous or not, onto the pitch, or at any person."
Meanwhile, Dynamos' coach Tonderai Ndiraya said he was impressed by the way his charges performed against Bulawayo Chiefs.
"What is more exciting is that we have collected three points from a very good team. I want to give credit to coach Nilton (Terosso) for the job that he is doing here. This is a good team, a good and formidable side which is going to give a lot of teams some problems, so I also want to give him credit. They worked so hard and played well but in the end we had to become victors," Ndiraya said.
