5 drown after haulage truck, excavator collide on bridge and plunge into river in Zimbabwe

Five people drowned on Friday after a haulage truck and an excavator collided on a bridge in Beatrice, before both vehicles plunged into the Mupfure river below.
Police said one survivor, a man, managed to swim to shore.
In a statement on Sunday, police said divers had retrieved two bodies while a third was trapped in the haulage truck. Two people are still missing and are presumed to have also drowned.
Police spokesman Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said: "The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on Friday at the 54km peg along the Harare–Masvingo road.
"A haulage truck with four occupants on board side swiped with an excavator with two people on board resulting in both vehicles falling into Mupfure River.
One person managed to swim to the shore while the other five drowned. On Saturday, police from the SubAqua unit retrieved two bodies of the victims from the river
"The body of the other victim is still trapped in the haulage truck while two others are still missing."
