The Bulawayo City Council has temporarily disconnected water supply to several suburbs for maintenance work at the Tuli, 6J, and Rifle Range reservoirs. This maintenance began yesterday and is expected to conclude today.
The city's town clerk, Christopher Dube, announced that the repairs are focused on valve chambers at the corner of Old Esigodini Road and Percy Avenue, and the schedule might change based on repair progress.
The affected suburbs include Holiday Inn, Ascot, Khumalo, Parklands, Queens Park, Mahatshula, Woodville, Kingsdale, Hopeville, Killarney, Fairbridge, Lochview, Sunnighill, Riverside Marlands, Glencoe, Waterford, Manningdale, Willsgrove, Buena Vista, Douglasdale, Fortunes Gate, Selborne Park, Matsheumhlophe, Burnside (East of Burnside Road), Mqabuko Heights, Harrisvale, Trenance, Richmond, and Sauerstown.
Water shedding in these areas will be suspended from June 9 to 11, with water supply resuming after the maintenance is completed and the reservoirs are refilled.
Dube apologized for the inconvenience and assured residents that water supplies would be restored promptly after the work is finished.
