Bulawayo City Council issues storm drainage ultimatum

BULAWAYO - The Bulawayo City Council (BCC) has issued an ultimatum to residents, businesses, and property owners to clear storm drainage systems by October 28, 2025, or face penalties.

In a public notice, the council warned that any obstructions - including building materials and debris - must be removed to prevent flooding during the upcoming rainy season.

"Failure to comply may result in forcible removal at the owner's cost," the notice read.

The council emphasised that the exercise is essential to protect property and ensure public safety.
