The MDC-T has complained over the partisan distribution of food aid by the ruling Zanu PF in Magwegwe and parts of Bulawayo.

This was revealed by MDC-T Bulawayo Provincial Deputy Spokesperson Felix Mafa Sibanda.

"Hunger knows no body. I'm most perturbed by partisan maize or food distribution to hungry residents in greater Bulawayo," he said.

"It's pathetic that Zanu PF district t officials took over good distribution from traditional none partisan civic leaders and residents' association office bearers     and chose to register their members notwithstanding that all food is from donor world."

He said in Magwegwe in ward 18 in particular, all deserving residents have been called not more than 5 times to the club house ,the venue in vein for food distribution only to discover its  Zanu PF campaign meeting on weekends at Magwegwe hall.

"This strategy by Zanu PF  district officials is a total negation of why food is voluntary donated by various humanitarian overseas donors. This abuse of food is uncalled for because hunger has no political 'eyes' just to emphasise  patronage by the Zanu PF administration country wide," he said.

"For goodness sake this must be condemned in the strongest terms possible.    The Bulawayo MDC T welfare committee has undertook a random survey in 29 Bulawayo wards and found out that 90% food is given to Zanu PF  members,5% to vulnerable children and 5% to none Zanu PF  as a cover up for glaring partisan distribution."

"In conclusion, we demand that the ministry of social welfare to correct the aforesaid anomalies by creating. Social food protection and livelihoods of all, through ,"the food agriculture and natural resource policy analysis network with donors and all relevant stakeholders like civic society, Councillors,MPs residents themselves."
