MDC-T Bulawayo Deputy  Provincial spokesperson Felix Mafa Sibanda: has said Transport Minister Jorum Gumbo and local government minister Saviour Kasukuwere are taking people for granted over the issue of compensation of accident victims.

"At law the owner of an animal or property that causes accident is capable for damages or compensation for injuries or death caused. Due to bad state of state and local roads ,these authorities of two ministers just accept their responsibility to cause compensation rather than dribble each other for the sake of avoiding their legal obligations as so to demand," said Sibanda.

"Instead of coming to help accident victims are mooting Urban tolling which has no need. Basing our argument that the current national tolling is not transparent enough to introduce urban one. These two ministers ate laughing lot and should do one honourable thing which is to resign . Both have totally failed to fulfill their obligation, to service their ministries to the satisfaction of the citizenry."

Sibanda said they are demanding that all deceased on the roads due to bad state of either road net work be compensated by either or both ministers for neglecting their constitutional roles as ministers of government.

Sibanda said bad state of roads are about 75 to 80% accidents and carnage...

"We are appealing to all who have suffered one way in the aforesaid carnage as it were ."

"Point of reference is recent accident that happened two weeks ago adjacent NUST.,where more than 13 members of one family perished. That accident was caused by big pothole in the centre of the highway. In this case ZINARA or ministry of roads net work is capable of compensation therein without doubt. No puzzle or dribbling the deceased relatives. We are inviting Human rights lawyers and kind hearted individuals to in and sue the government on the said neglect of their constitutional obligations to protect all citizens equally,"he said.
