Former Zanu-PF youth activists Fidelis Fengu has said President Robert MUgabe has nothing to lose no matter how people around him jostle for power.
He said "Robert Mugabe the President and Commander in Chief has nothing to lose, more in his arsenal to fight off any pretenders to his throne, the monster known as Presidential powers is a weapon of mass destruction to any opponents. He is First Secretary and President of the ruling party , that also means he has powers to uproot any tree that casts an undesirable shade to his throne."
This come in the wake of escalating conflict over Mugabe's succession among party members between the Lacoste and the G40 factions.
Lacoste is angling for Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa to succeed the 93 year old leader while the G40 is angling for the first lady Grace Mugabe to take over from her husband or if it failed for the defence minister Sydney Sekeramayi to take over.
"In conclusion , it doesn't matter which way you slice it Gushungo is in command," said Fengu.
