ZANU PF bigwigs jostle to control Youth League ahead of Conference

ZANU PF bigwigs are reportedly engaged in efforts to control the outcomes of the Provincial youth and women wings conference elections.

A Midlands ZANU PF Youth League source that spoke  to this reporter on Tuesday said there was a plot by a faction aligned to ZANU PF Spokesperson Ambassador Chris Mutsvangwa to bring back former ZANU PF Deputy Secretary Secretary for Youth Affairs Lewis Matutu to be at the helm of the Youth structure.

Elections in Midlands are expected over the weekend.

Matutu is reportedly enjoying support from the Manicaland and Mashonaland West Provinces.

Other reports also indicate that in Zvishavane district Maxwell Matizenyika will battle it out with Nomatter Topotsa who is reportedly backed  by strongman Daniel Mackenzie Ncube.

Mackenzie faction accuses Topotsa of being from Chiweshe in Mashonaland Central.

Other candidates that are said to belong to Mackenzie faction in the province are Eddison Shava, Angeline Jabedo and Act Chauke

Dreaded former State Security Minister Owen Mudha Ncube is also said to be fronting his candidate Phineas Makombe.

The Province is expected to forward four names to the elective National Conference of the Youth league where 2 will be elected to the Central Committee deputized by the other 2.
