A 21-YEAR-OLD Shamva pedestrian was axed to death by four suspected robbers who met him on a foot path in Shamva last week.
One of the suspects Onismo Muchemwa (32) has since been arrested while his two accomplices Wirimayi Gutsa Lloyd Musimwa and Joseph Mutaiki are still at large.
The matter came to light at Bindura magistrates courts where Muchemwa appeared before magistrate Samantha Dhlamini and was not asked to plead to the charge
The state alleged on June 12 the now deceased David Shuvha was walking on a foot path and met the suspects who threatened to kill him if he does not give them his belongings.
Shuvha tried to flee but was caught by the four who axed him on the hands before assaulting him with machetes and stabbing him four times with a Columbia knife and left him in a pool of blood.
The police received the report hours later and rushed to the scene where they found Shuvha breathing and rushed him to the hospital, where he died upon admission.
Muchemwa was spotted by the police at Matawatawa shopping centre and he fled into the nearby mountains but was eventually caught by the alert police.
