South Africa's Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has revealed that a case of sexual harassment has been opened against him. In a statement released in his personal capacity on Saturday, 13 August 2022, Godongwana says the alleged victim is a female employee who had offered a "massage services" to him and other guests during a visit to the Kruger National Park in Skukuza.

"It has come to Minister Godongwa's attention that a case of alleged sexual harassment against him has been opened in Skukuza, Mpumalanga. It appears that the case was opened almost a week after Minister Godongwana concluded his private visit to Skukuza in the Kruger National Park. The Minister has been informed that the case was opened by an employee at Skukuza who was offering massage services to guests in their rooms," Godongwana said.

But Enoch Godongwana has categorically denied the sexual harassment allegation and says he was with his wife at the time of the alleged incident.

"I have always upheld and respected the rights and dignity of women, and this allegation goes against everything I stand for," Godongwana said.

He added that is yet to receive any official communication from the authorities and cannot comment any further.
