President Mnangagwa reassigns former CIO boss

Aaron Nhepera, formerly the Deputy Director General of the President's Office, has been reassigned by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.


Ndavaningi Mangwana, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Information, announced that Nhepera had been transferred from the Home Affairs Ministry and made the new secretary for Defense. Mangwana tweeted that:

"Aaron Nhepera has been chosen by His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa to serve as the new secretary of defense."

He was transferred from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage. He served as the President's Office's deputy director general in the past.

In a related incident, Gerald Gwinji, the former secretary for health and childcare, has replaced Nhepera at the home affairs ministry by Mnangagwa. 

Mangwana said," Dr. Gerald Gwinji has been appointed by His Excellence President Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa to the position of Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs"

Dr Gwinji joined ZNA as Medical Officer, and he rose through the ranks to become Senior Medical Officer. He is a former Secretary for Health and Childcare.
