A drinking spree ended tragically in Bindura after a 20-year-old man jumped into a swimming pool and drowned at a local bar in Bindura.
Tatenda Tembo drowned and his body was retrieved by his drinking mates from the pool.
Mashonaland Central deputy police spokesperson Sergeant Major Samuel Chikasha confirmed the case.
"I can confirm a sudden death case in Bindura where Tembo drowned after drinking too many beers and failed to swim after jumping in a swimming pool," Chikasha said.
Police warned people to desist from water bodies if they are drunk.
"We are advising people to desist from playing near water bodies if they are drinking beer."
