In his acceptance speech, Mayor Maoneyi expressed his commitment to fostering development in the resort town, stating, "I want to thank the community of Kariba for having confidence in me. I will work diligently alongside fellow councillors to ensure that Kariba becomes one of the best towns in the country. Addressing residents' welfare concerns is a top priority for me, and I will strive to promptly resolve any challenges they face."
Tapiwa Tawonameso, the chairperson of the Kariba Urban Residents Association, extended congratulations to Maoneyi, praising him as a visionary leader. Tawonameso expressed optimism that Mayor Maoneyi, with the support of the residents, would bring about significant development in Kariba.
