EXPOSED: Jonathan Moyo unearths Chamisa's Chekuseri strategy

Former Zimbabwean government minister and academic, Professor Jonathan Moyo, has exposed what he describes as a fraudulent and criminal legal strategy employed by the smaller faction of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Nelson Chamisa. Moyo alleges that Chamisa and his legal advisors are engaging in a deceitful court strategy, termed "Chekuseri/Sniper Strategy," to manipulate court orders in their favor, particularly in cases related to the recalls initiated by the main CCC faction led by Interim Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu.
Moyo's made remarks on X (formerly Twitter), that, "Chamisa's Party Now Deceiving Courts by Citing Itself in Place of CCC/Tshabangu to Fraudulently get Court Orders Unopposed." According to Moyo, this strategy involves filing court applications on behalf of the recalled councillors, citing Chamisa's party in place of CCC/Tshabangu, thus ensuring that the applications are heard unopposed.
As evidence, Moyo shared details of a court order dated November 30, 2023, involving an urgent application by Edward Dzeka, a Ward 12 Councilor and Deputy Mayor of Chegutu Municipality. The order declares the recall of Dzeka null and void, with no appearance from CCC/Tshabangu during the hearing.
Moyo commented on the case, stating, "In the above case, CCC/Tshabangu were not served, and hence they did not appear to oppose the application as they did not know about." He contends that the alleged fraud lies in the fact that Chamisa's party, while purportedly citing CCC/Tshabangu, intentionally did not serve them, resulting in their absence during the hearing.
Describing the act as "pure premeditated fraud with the intent to commit a crime," Moyo emphasizes the deliberate nature of the alleged deception and calls for scrutiny into the legal tactics employed by Chamisa's faction.
The expose by Professor Jonathan Moyo has ignited discussions on the ethical implications of such legal maneuvers, with concerns raised about the potential impact on the credibility of the legal process and the democratic principles underpinning it.
