ZRP officer-in-charge assaults female colleague

Stanley Siampongo, the 48-year-old Officer in Charge of ZRP Kamativi, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a female subordinate in February this year. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) reported that Siampongo faced assault charges in the Hwange Magistrates' Court.
According to the NPA, the incident occurred on February 21, 2024, when the 44-year-old complainant was instructed to start charge office duties the next day at 0600 hours but reported for duty at 0800 hours. When summoned to Siampongo's office to explain her tardiness, her explanation reportedly displeased him. Siampongo allegedly assaulted her with his fists until she fell. The assault continued as she ran to the administration block.
A police report was filed, leading to Siampongo's arrest. He was scheduled for a court judgment on May 31, 2024, but the NPA has not yet provided an update on the case.
