Man captured on CCTV stealing sweets from supermarket

Praise Kangande appeared before the Karoi Magistrate Court for stealing two packs of sweets valued at US$7 from Harare Inn Wholesale on June 26.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), Kangande entered the shop around 6 pm, pretending to shop but was caught on CCTV putting the sweets into his bag.
Alerted by the security team, Kangande was searched upon exiting the store, and the stolen sweets were discovered. He was immediately arrested.
Kangande was sentenced to four months in prison. However, two months of the sentence were suspended for five years, and the remaining two months were suspended on the condition that he performs 70 hours of community service.
