Mnangagwa appoints Matuke as Minister of State for National Security

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has appointed Honourable Lovemore Matuke, Senator, as Minister of State for National Security with immediate effect.
The appointment, made in accordance with Section 104 Subsection (1) and Section 225 of the Zimbabwean Constitution, underscores the government's commitment to enhancing the country’s security infrastructure and ensuring the safety of all citizens.
Matuke will now oversee the nation's national security operations, including strategic initiatives to maintain peace and stability across Zimbabwe. His appointment is expected to play a key role in strengthening government efforts in security governance and addressing national security challenges.
Dr. M. Rushwaya, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, issued an official press statement today, said the announcement follows President Mnangagwa's continuous efforts to improve the efficiency and coordination of state functions, particularly in safeguarding Zimbabwe's sovereignty and protecting its citizens.
