Some of Highlanders' Problems Being Addressed, Thanks to CBZ Holdings Partnership
Some of the challenges facing Highlanders Football Club are now being resolved, with CBZ Holdings stepping in to support the team through various initiatives.
The bank has offered official Highlanders members a chance to financially support the club following a new partnership between Highlanders and CBZ Holdings.
As part of this partnership, CBZ Holdings has committed to refurbishing the club's property known as Hotel California.
Reports indicate that all registered members of Highlanders will be issued with a CBZ bank card. Whenever the card is used, a portion of the transaction amount will be contributed to the club. The card is a Visa Card that also includes funeral and medical cover benefits.
CBZ Holdings made this announcement last Friday, stating that the company would be part of Highlanders' preparations to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026.
CBZ Holdings executive Lawrence Nyazema said:
"As we prepare for the club's centenary, it must be done with commitment and weight. As a sponsor of the team, CBZ Holdings is determined to be part of the planning to ensure that this 100-year celebration becomes a major historical milestone in Zimbabwean football."
He said they would refurbish the club house and the Hotel California residence in Luveve.
"Given the positive standing of Highlanders and its Club House as an example of proper sports administration, we are committed to working with Highlanders to improve these facilities.
We are doing the same with the Highlanders Village project. Celebrating 100 years should not be treated as a small event," Nyazema added.
CBZ Holdings' involvement adds to a growing list of corporate sponsors backing Highlanders financially. Other partners include Sakunda Holdings, Better Brands, Utande, Sanctuary Insurance, and Nyaradzo Funeral Services.
