A man known as Godwin, popularly referred to as "Bogus," is currently on the run following allegations that he fatally assaulted a client over a stolen wheelbarrow at a local bar in Damafalls, Ruwa.

The victim, 25-year-old Cyprian Muradzi, was reportedly beaten severely with kicks and punches to the head by Bogus after the wheelbarrow was discovered hidden in Cyprian's bedroom. The assault allegedly occurred in the presence of Cyprian's family, who watched helplessly as the violence unfolded.

According to police reports, the incident began on June 15, 2025, around 10 p.m. at Danny Bar in Ruwa, where Cyprian allegedly stole the wheelbarrow. After receiving a tip-off, Bogus tracked down the stolen item to Cyprian's home and confronted him. The confrontation escalated into a heated argument involving others.

During the altercation, Cyprian reportedly threw two bricks at the crowd questioning him, further inflaming the situation. Bogus then physically assaulted Cyprian until he collapsed unconscious.

Cyprian's wife, 23-year-old Tsungirai Karanji, rushed to her brother for help, and they proceeded to a nearby police post. However, Bogus had already fled the scene by the time they returned.

Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the ongoing investigation.
