A 21-year-old Bulawayo student is seeking financial assistance to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Zimbabwe (UZ), after overcoming years of hardship to excel academically.
Robin Tawananyasha Zvenyika, who lives with his mother and two siblings in a two-roomed cottage in Sauerstown, earned a place in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences but faces challenges in raising funds for tuition, accommodation, and living expenses.
"I cannot afford to pay for my tuition, accommodation, food, books, and even clothing," Zvenyika told CITE. "I am kindly asking those with willing hearts and whose financial circumstances can allow me to pursue my dream."
Zvenyika's father abandoned the family when he was just three weeks old, leaving his mother to raise him and his siblings under difficult circumstances. Despite these challenges, he excelled at school, achieving outstanding A-Level results in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
With his university offer now secured, Zvenyika hopes that well-wishers can help him realise his dream of becoming a medical professional and giving back to his community.
Those willing to assist can contact Zvenyika directly via phone at +263 788 130 232 or email at zvenyikarobin@gmail.com
