Zanu PF legislator Energy Mutodi has publicly accused Ministry of Finance Permanent Secretary George Guvamatanga of corruption, alleging that he receives kickbacks for Treasury payments.

Posting on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Mutodi claimed that Parliament has received disturbing reports that Guvamatanga is pocketing 5–10% of every payment processed by Treasury.

"GG, as he is notoriously called, has accumulated more than $1 billion, becoming the richest civil servant. Contractors, ministries, and departments that refuse to pay Guvamatanga a kickback of at least 5% after receiving Treasury payments have been denied funds for several months - even when the money is budgeted," Mutodi posted.

He further alleged that Parliament itself has struggled to operate over the past six months due to withheld budgeted funds.

"A civil servant earning less than $1,000, GG owns more than 5,000 dairy cattle, dairy equipment, and several mansions - hence the proposed lifestyle audit," Mutodi added.

The revelations have sparked outrage, exposing what Mutodi describes as "the highest level of corruption in the upper echelons of power."
