The City of Bulawayo has announced a delay in the completion of upgrade works at the Umzingwane Pump Station, which were initially scheduled to be finalized on Monday, 6 October 2025.

According to a statement released by Town Clerk Christopher Dube, the setback has been caused by delays in the delivery of materials and on-site fabrication processes.

"The completion of the works and the subsequent restoration of water supply are now expected following the successful testing of all systems, which is scheduled for Friday, 10 October 2025," the city said.

During this period, water supply across the city will remain inconsistent and will be managed based on reservoir levels and distribution capacity.

The ongoing upgrades are part of efforts to enhance pumping capacity and ensure a more reliable water supply to residents.

The City of Bulawayo apologized for the inconvenience caused and urged residents to use water sparingly.

"Water is life. Save every drop," the statement read.
