President Emmerson Mnangagwa's loyalists are intensifying efforts to secure his term extension to 2030, a move that has sparked internal tensions within ZANU PF, particularly from the faction aligned with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

The push for Mnangagwa's continued leadership was confirmed by ZANU PF Director of Information Farai Marapira, who stated that Resolution Number 1 - calling for the President's term extension - is now an official party position ahead of the 22nd National People's Conference.

"Resolution Number 1, calling for His Excellency President E.D. Mnangagwa to extend his term until 2030, is an official Party position," Marapira said.

He expressed confidence that the resolution would be implemented, describing Mnangagwa as "a listening leader" who believes that "the voice of the people is the voice of God."

The move comes amid growing speculation over succession dynamics within ZANU PF, with party factions reportedly divided over the future of the presidency.
